Both Bristol DVSA centres route through the city's quirks: Kingswood routes include the A420 Kingswood bottleneck and the Downend roundabout cluster; Brislington routes cross onto the A4 Bath Road and include the Temple Meads station approach. The Clean Air Zone covers the city centre — learner cars must be compliant or the lesson gets rerouted.

The Bristol CAZ is a Class D zone, which means private cars are included — check lesson vehicle compliance before booking. The Totterdown hill starts are steeper than almost anywhere else used in UK tests; getting confident with these before a Brislington test is worth extra lesson time.
